Dansersfonds

Each year, the Dansersfonds (Solid Ground vzw) awards a scholarship to a promising dancer from our own country. In this way, we aim to provide financial support to emerging talent at the beginning and development of their career.

Fox has grown up in the Antwerp Ballet community. He started his education at Prins Dries at age 9 and graduated from the Koninklijke Balletschool Antwerpen.

“I am very grateful for the support that Wim Vanlessen is willing to give me. Ever since my first year in Antwerp, I’ve been attending his performances, and I was there for his final Boléro. In September, I will begin the Associate Degree program at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, where I hope to continue growing both technically and artistically.”

The Dansersfonds Scholarship will be supporting his transition to the program in Amsterdam. We wish him success!

We are proud to present our first laureate, Matteo Beeckman.

“I look up to Wim a lot, and I am proud that he wants to give me this opportunity and believes in me.
Such a scholarship really helps young dancers. In Belgium, it is often difficult for young dancers to start their careers.
This scholarship helps me finance auditions and makes the search for the right ballet company possible.
